Shwe Pipeline
Report summary
Shwe gas is exported via a 110 kilometre, 32-inch pipeline, to the gas receiving terminal at Kyauk Phyu on Ramree Island. The project construction contract was awarded to Hyundai Heavy Industries and Doris Engineering in October 2009 and the pipeline was commissioned in July 2013 - three months later than initially planned. Ownership of the gas lies with the upstream consortium until the point of sale to China National United Oil Corporation (CNUOC) at Kyauk Phyu.
