Cooke gold mine
Report summary
Cooke is one of Sibanye's Far West Rand operations along with Kloof, Driefontein and the West Rand Tailings Retreatment project. Sibanye acquired control of the asset in 2014 following its acquisition of Gold One International. Cooke used to produce gold along with a material amount of uranium. All shafts were placed on care and maintenance from October 2017. Current operations comprise the Randfontein Surface Operation (RSO), which processes historic tailings material at the Cooke surface plant.
